Lisa Smith: Lisa was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and will be undergoing treatment at the Bennett Cancer Center in Stamford. Lisa and her husband Greg are life-long Stamford residents. Greg is a Stamford Firefighter and Lisa works for her family’s business in addition to raising their two children: 14 year old Will and 10 year old Hayley. They are also active with the Autism Speaks Organization in support of their son Will, who is autistic.
The Cossio Family: Ashley is a freshman at Westhill High School who has Cystic Fibrosis. Her brother Bryan, a senior at Westhill, has been the primary care giver for his sister while their mom, Maritza Hernandez, holds down two and three jobs to keep her family afloat. Bryan has learned to feed his sister through her feeding tube and handles her massive regime of medications. While in school, Bryan checks on her every period. Bryan has been described by his teachers and administrators as a selfless, mature, warm and caring young man. In his four years at WHS, he has never complained and refuses to use his situation as an excuse. After graduation, Bryan plans on attending college to become a nurse so he can continue to help people.
The 2010 Allyson Rioux Memorial Golf Tournament is being held on Thursday, May 13th at the Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford, CT. Our 2nd Annual "Celebration" Dinner will be held at 6:30pm that evening at the Italian Center of Stamford.
We will be raising funds for the beneficiaries through raffle ticket sales, the golf tournament and the celebration dinner. If you would like to play in the golf tournament and/or attend the Celebration Dinner and you don't receive our mailing by April 8th, please contact us through this website to request an invitation.
