Ian is our second 2011 Beneficiary:
Ian is a lovable 6-year-old boy who was in Kindergarten at Northeast Elementary School last year when he was diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma - a large tumor that took up way too much space in his head. After numerous surgeries and radiation, he is home now, but further diagnostic testing will set the course for future therapy. Ian’s parents, Margaret and Tony (who is a lifelong Stamford resident), alternate between their careers and caring for Ian since he needs constant medical attention. Ian's older brother, Brendan (10), also helps with his brother’s care in numerous ways: He not only has learned CPR and how to give Ian his medications, but enjoys watching TV with his brother, describing the television programs to him. Ian is currently attending Stillmeadow Elementary School for a few hours a day and is enrolled in their great Special Education Program. He is exposed to therapy, music and contact with other people while still receiving the round-the-clock care he needs.
We hope you will join us in supporting Ian and his family at this year's golf tournament and/or celebration dinner. If you are unable to attend, we are pleased to accept any donation you may be able to make.
Thank you,
The Allyson Rioux Memorial Foundation
